People typically change for one of two reasons – from desperation or inspiration. Desperation is tricky because it’s reactive and often the action needed is taken too late. Because of this the action/change can be more painful and it can take longer because of the damage waiting has done. Desperation also can be felt energetically, people can feel when you want something too much and that fact alone can simply repel new patients to your practice, it can come through in your marketing and how you are interacting with existing patients. It’s just not the most joyful energy to be in and according to the law of attraction, in order to attract what you want, it helps to create a magnetic force versus act as a repellent.
Being inspired on the other hand has a completely different energy. It’s the energy of hope! The feeling of being inspired can bring about actual physical energy to make change and to do it from a positive mindset. This is precisely why my ideal client is doing good but wants to go from good to great! It’s not that I can’t take a poor situation and improve upon it, it’s just more of an uphill battle, can be more painful for those involved, and can take more time and cause more frustration.
The same goes for our patients. They feel differently about the treatment proposed to them if they are inspired to get the work done versus waiting until it’s a necessity because it hurts, looks bad, etc. (desperation). Again, according to the law of attraction, if your team and office works in the mode of waiting to make changes until things are dire, you will naturally attract patients with a similar mindset.
