The Making of the Healthcare Networking Collective

I love networking now, but that wasn’t always the case. I started networking back in 2014 to
promote our dental office. Production had plateaued, and we weren’t bringing in the number of
new patients we wanted each month. With a small marketing budget, I decided to join a
networking group. Although the idea of standing up and talking about our business in front of
people wasn’t exactly thrilling, I knew that word-of-mouth was one of the most powerful ways to
grow, and networking felt like the perfect way to amplify that.

My first year in two local groups brought in just one new patient, but something amazing
happened—a testimonial one of the members gave in front of the group sparked a snowball
effect that has generated millions for our practice since then.

When it came time to grow Martin Management, I knew I needed that same kind of network. I
looked for a healthcare-specific group that connected people across the country and was focused
on supporting one another, but I couldn’t find exactly the format I was looking for. Based on my
decade of successful networking for the dental office, I knew what worked, and I had an idea for
creating something that would build trust quickly and encourage ongoing connections.

As with so many things in my life, when I can’t find what I need, I get to work creating it. And
in June 2024, the Healthcare Networking Collective (HNC) was born! It started with just six
dedicated members and is continually growing. This group not only helps promote my business
and build meaningful relationships with others who encounter my ideal clients, but it also allows
me to help others grow their businesses too. I love being able to support them and recommend
their services when it makes sense for my clients. Plus, my clients benefit because I can
introduce them to trusted resources when they face challenges beyond my expertise.
